Marshawn Lynch, aka "Beast Mode," is currently the starting running back for the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL, and played his college ball with the California Golden Bears from 2004 to 2006. He was selected with the twelfth pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, the highest a Tedford-recruited player has gone in the draft. During his three years at Cal he would accumulate 3,230 yards, second all-time in Cal football history to Russell White.[1]

2004 Season[]
Marshawn would spend much of the season backing up J.J. Arrington. He would accumulate 628 yards on 71 carries, and would showcase his talent with some breakaway runs against Air Force, Stanford, and Washington. His best game would be in the 2004 Big Game, where he would not only rush for 122 yards on only 9 carries (including a 55 yard breakaway), but also threw a 20 yard touchdown to Burl Toler.[2]

With Arrington's departure, Marshawn became the primary ball-carrier for Cal football.
